Leaf & Life - Herbalism and Healing Workshop

Welcome to a Seasonal Tapestry: a year-long journey at Ewhurst Park. The Green Crown of Spring.

As May bursts into life, we explore the landscape at its most abundant. The focus is on fresh leaf herbs such as nettle, mint and plantain, celebrated for their nourishing and restorative qualities.

Walk through the estate with our expert guide, learning to identify key medicinal plants, understand their traditional uses, and recognise what to avoid when foraging. You’ll discover how these vibrant spring leaves can be used to support wellbeing through simple teas, tonics and seasonal remedies.

There will be plenty of time to slow down, observe and gather materials to use later in the day. The session is welcoming and accessible for beginners, with practical tips that can be enjoyed by adults and children alike.

The workshop includes a simple outdoor lunch cooked over the fire, featuring foraged ingredients alongside produce from Ewhurst Park’s Quality Meats range.

About your guide

Our resident forager, herbalist and nature connection practitioner, Simon Keith, grew up in a family of herbalists, and has a lifetime of experience foraging plants and fungi. His bushcraft and woodwork skills are second nature, and he’s at his happiest tramping through forests in search of exciting mushrooms and plants.
