Battle Creek, MI — The Harper Creek Optimist Club, the Battle Creek Optimist Club, and the Brighter Days Optimist Club are joining forces to host a special community event at Leila Arboretum, designed to showcase who we are, what we do, and how YOU can be part of the positive change happening right here in Calhoun County.

Together, our clubs share a mission rooted in respect, integrity, optimism, and global community—the same core values championed by Optimist International. These values guide our work as we strive to bring out the best in youth, our neighborhoods, and ourselves.

This collaborative event will give community members the chance to:
• Meet local Optimists from all three clubs
• Learn about our youth programs, service projects, and volunteer opportunities
• Discover how optimism can transform lives
• Explore membership and find the club that feels like home

“Optimism isn’t just a word—it’s action,” the clubs shared in a joint statement. “By working together, we can amplify our impact and invite more people into a movement that builds hope, confidence, and opportunity for young people across our community.”

We also invite guests to support our ongoing Pinch of Optimism PB & J and Spice Drive, helping local families add flavor and comfort to their meals. Donations of peanut butter, jelly, and spices can be dropped off at participating club locations or brought to the event.
