Ramirez, Jr.), and authors Anne Harmon Brett, also a graduate of LSU (The Disease: One Man’s Journey Through a Life with Leprosy), and Claire Manes (Out of the Shadow of Leprosy: the Carville Letters and Stories of the Landry Family). All are advocates for a better understanding of Hansen’s disease and an end to the stigma associated with it.
