A Lafayette native, she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Newcomb College at Tulane University and began her professional career at The Times-Picayune in New Orleans. She has previously worked as an editor of news and business content at The (Lafayette) Daily Advertiser, The Boston Globe, and The Dallas Morning News. In 2023, she was hired at The Advocate and later promoted to Deputy Editor to head The Advocate’s Opinion pages.Her work has received numerous awards, including the Carmage Walls Commentary Prize for editorials in 2025. In 2019, she was one of 20 journalists from around the globe selected for the Knight-Wallace fellowship in Ann Arbor, Michigan. __________________________________________The Pizza & Public Affairs series invites students, faculty, and staff from across campus to enjoy free pizza and engage in meaningful conversations with guest speakers, whether a public official, civic leader, public affairs practitioner, or polarization expert. Speakers will share with students how they have achieved successful policy or program outcomes by building coalitions and communicating in a way that bridges division.Pizza & Public Affairs is part of the Common Ground Project, a collaborative effort between the Reilly Center and the Public Affairs Research Council of Louisiana (PAR) to promote civic engagement, bipartisan dialogue, and trust in democratic institutions.Faculty: We encourage you to share this announcement with your students and your network!
