Sounds Like Home: Sounds and Stories From Iran with the Vilk Collective

Join us for the second event in the Sounds Like Home series — Sounds and Stories from Iran, an evening exploring Iranian culture through film, music, and community connection.

The event features Roxana and Peter Vilk of Vilk Collective, award-winning musicians and filmmakers known for their innovative blend of Persian folk, jazz, and world sounds. With special guest Harry Miller on Bass.

? Participatory Music Workshop – Join the artists in creating shared rhythms and melodies inspired by Persian musical traditions.

Building on the success of Rhythms of the Nile, this event continues Sudafest’s Sounds Like Home series — a celebration of global sounds and stories that connect us all.

About the Artists
Vilk Collective is the creative partnership of Roxana Vilk (Iran) and Peter Vilk (UK/Czech Republic). Their work has been featured on BBC Radio 6, BBC TV, and BBC Persian, and includes collaborations with communities across the UK through their celebrated Lullabies and Circle/دایره projects.

Described by BBC Introducing as “a virtuoso trip, utterly beautiful,” their performances combine music, storytelling, and visual art to celebrate the power of cultural diversity.
