Since leaving politics, she's written more than 100 books for children and adults, including the Sunday Times #1 bestselling Worst Class in the World series, the critically acclaimed The Queen of Bloody Everything, and Joe All Alone, which is now a BAFTA-winning and Emmy-nominated BBC drama.She's been shortlisted for the Roald Dahl Funny Prize, the British Best Book Award, and twice for the LOLLIES, and nominated six times for the Carnegie Medal for Writing. She also teaches for Arvon, John Yorke Story, and is an Associate Professor in Creative Writing at University of Bristol.
