🎷 Joe Northwood – Saxophone
Based in Cardiff, Joe Northwood is at the forefront of the exciting jazz talent emerging from Wales. A dynamic saxophonist, bandleader, educator and champion of Cardiff’s jazz and creative music scene, Joe has performed at venues and festivals across the UK and abroad.
His recent projects include the acclaimed jazz trios Tuk Tuk and Banshee, alongside a powerful quartet tribute to John Coltrane. A graduate of the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, Joe studied under some of the UK’s leading jazz figures, helping shape a sound that’s confident, expressive and deeply rooted in the tradition.
🎹 Tom Berge – Piano
Tom Berge is quickly establishing himself as one of the most exciting up-and-coming pianists on the UK jazz scene. Known for his versatility, creativity and swing-led style, Tom brings a fresh originality while staying firmly grounded in classic jazz.
He has performed with many of the UK’s finest jazz artists, including Tina May, Jim Mullen, Alan Barnes, Dennis Rollins, Karen Sharpe and Simon Spillett, to name just a few. A Leeds College of Music graduate with a First Class Honours Degree in Jazz Performance, Tom’s playing is influenced by legends such as Oscar Peterson, Erroll Garner and Nat King Cole — expect elegance, energy and groove in equal measure.
