Blending swampy blues, New Orleans voodoo, and old-fashioned folk storytelling, Lee’s sound is raw, percussive, and feral — equal parts back-alley sermon and bar-room exorcism.

After escaping Australia for North America in 2015, Lee spent the next decade hammering dive bars, music halls, festival stages, and folk venues from Canada through Detroit to New Orleans. He tore it up at the International Blues Festival in Memphis in 2020, returning again in January 2024, and in 2022 was invited to perform at the legendary Terra Blues in New York City.

Along the way, Lee earned Best Blues Act nominations at the Forest City London Music Awards (2021, 2022), released his second album Hitchcock Sequel, and shared stages with artists including The White Buffalo, Shakey Graves, and Cat Clyde.

Back home, Lee has performed at Blues on Broadbeach (2023, 2024), Queenscliff Music Festival, and the Byron Bay Blues & Roots Festival busking competition.

Now back on red soil, C.J. Lee is gearing up to release his third studio album, Memorials (2026) — louder, dirtier, and more unhinged than ever.
