About the Show
What happens when the characters you’ve only ever met in books suddenly come to life in your local library?
Murder at the Library is an original comedic murder mystery that blends classic literature with sharp wit and theatrical fun. The play begins with the Librarian, who has spent a lifetime keeping order among the shelves, suddenly confronted by a dream come true. Alice, the Queen of Hearts, Sherlock Holmes, Jo March, Robin Hood, Dorian Gray, Lady Macbeth, and Ichabod Crane have all stepped straight out of their stories and into the library.
At first, it’s chaotic fun: rivalries flare, arguments break out, and the Librarian is caught between delight and dismay as their quiet sanctuary turns into a circus of egos. But when a priceless rare book mysteriously vanishes, accusations begin to fly. What starts as playful banter quickly escalates into suspicion, betrayal, and finally… murder.
Equal parts clever literary satire and classic whodunnit, Murder at the Library invites audiences to laugh, guess, and gasp as these iconic characters reveal their secrets and motives. The Librarian insists on quiet but in this library, silence will not last for long.
