​ABOUT THE SHOW

​From Stage to Screen is an intimate, performer-driven cabaret stripped down to the bare minimum. There are no costumes, no choreography, and no props.

​Casting: An ensemble of 6 to 8 powerhouse vocalists/actors capable of commanding the stage entirely on their own.

​REQUIREMENTS & GUIDELINES

​The Rule: Song choices must be written for and performed by a specific character within a Musical, Movie, or TV Show.
​The Vibe: Without choreography or props to lean on, performers must carry a scene completely by themselves. Prepare a performance that feels like a one-act play. Standard concert singing is not the objective; the focus is on artists who can stand still under a spotlight and draw the audience into the character's world.
​What to Prepare: Prepare one song that fits the criteria above. Bring a backing/karaoke track; a Bluetooth speaker will be provided.
​Note on Selection: Think outside the box. Avoid the overplayed "Greatest Hits" of community theater (No Wicked, Les Misérables, or standard Disney). Select a song the audience has likely never heard before, or bring a well-known song performed in an unexpected way. Demonstrate the ability to tell a secret through music.

​REHEARSAL SCHEDULE & EXPECTATIONS

​Please note that this production does not have a heavy, demanding rehearsal schedule. Because of the stripped-down nature of the show, a significant portion of preparation will be done independently.

​Early July: Setlist finalized and music distributed.
​July: Independent rehearsal to learn and memorize material.
​Early August: Minimal group meetings for check-ins and run-throughs.
​Late August: Full rehearsals and tech leading up to the performances.
