What is Balfolk dancing, you ask? It is a very valid question. Bal folk comes from France (literally means “folk ball”) and is basically a French version of an Aussie Bush dance. A wide variety of European dances (Uk, Ireland, Netherlands, Scandinavia, and especially France) are enjoyed at these events: there are line dances, circle dances, change-partner dances, couples dances and occasionally some solo dances. The main goal of balfolk is to bring people together to have heaps of fun, to laugh and smile with people you know and some you just met - people say it’s their dopamine hit for the week! Balfolk has slowly been spreading from France to many other countries, and we are very excited that it has now made it's way to Perth and is thriving!
