Please request confirmation of receipt after submitting your entries.
Do not use any other method to submit lots.
📋 Entry Rules & Conditions:
• A maximum of 40 lots per seller may be entered in advance.
• No substitutions are allowed on the day for pre-entered lots.
• Up to 5 additional or substituted lots may be brought on the day but will be treated as late entries and subject to a higher commission.
• Large numbers of lots will not be accepted on the day of the auction.
• Pre-entry allows catalogues to be printed in advance, reducing delays and helping the auction start on time.
• A list of late-entry lots will be produced before the auction begins.
Note: The organisers reserve the right to refuse any lots they consider prohibited or unsuitable.
🐠 Welfare of Livestock:
• The welfare of all livestock (including fish, shrimps, and snails) is a top priority.
• Ensure livestock is healthy and correctly bagged in suitable containers or bags.
– Catfish and loaches must be in containers or at least double-bagged.
• Unsuitable lots may be removed from the auction. Re-bagging assistance will be offered where possible.
• Transport all livestock in polystyrene or insulated boxes.
• When bagging the night before, maintain an appropriate temperature and allow for sufficient air space.
– Coldwater species like goldfish are exempt from temperature checks, but all others may be removed if too cold.
• Spare polystyrene boxes may be available on request.
🌱 Prohibited Items:
• Invasive Plant Species:
Any species banned by DEFRA or otherwise considered invasive will not be accepted.
• CITES-Listed Species:
No lots will be accepted if they appear on CITES endangered or at-risk lists.
• Tank Busters:
The auctioneer may refuse any fish deemed to be "tank-busting" species.
🔖 Labelling & Lot Numbers:
• All items should be clearly and correctly labelled.
• Ensure lot numbers match those on your seller list.
• For multiple bags in one lot, bags must be securely tied together.
🧾 Membership & Registration:
• You must be a member of the Association of Aquarists or purchase a day membership to participate.
• Bidders must register upon arrival and will be issued a bidder number.
• You may not use another member’s bidder number.
🧊 Bidder Responsibilities:
• Livestock will only be sold to bidders with a poly box or suitable insulated container.
• Ensure you're bidding on the correct lot number—all sales are final.
• View items before bidding. The auction team is not responsible for misidentified or mis numbered lots.
• Buyers beware! It is your responsibility to assess lots before bidding.
🛍️ Seller Responsibilities:
• Accurately describe and label your items.
• Electrical equipment must be safe and in working order, or clearly labelled as “faulty/spares only”.
• Unsafe items may be removed by the auction team.
• Do not conduct private sales of entered lots before the auction begins.
💰 Bidding Process:
• Bids increase in 50p increments up to £10, then in £1 increments.
• Register early to allow time to view lots and secure your bidder number.
• The auction team may hold up lots but will not offer individual viewings during bidding.
• After the auction, there may be a delay while accounts are finalised.
– Bidders may be called individually to speed up the process.
– A raffle is usually held during this time.
