Explore the landscapes of Langdon Hills on this 4-mile walk finishing with a visit to Hilldrop Gardens and a tour led by local gardening expert John Little.
Walk Information:
Accessibility: On made and unmade paths with uneven ground and hills. Not suitable for wheelchair and buggy users. Toilets can be accessed at the Visitor Centre before the start of the walk or the Garden after the end of the walk.
Getting There: At T100 we are committed to reducing our carbon footprint at every level and would like to encourage all people attending our events and walks to use public transport if they are able to. If you need to drive, please let us know if you would consider car-pooling or car sharing.
By rail
The nearest train station is Langdon Station, a 20-25-minute walk to the starting point.
By bus
The B1 Basildon Shuttles bus travels frequently between Basildon Town Centre and Laindon. It stops on Fraser Close, which is a 26-minute walk to the starting point.
By car
At start point: Free car park on-site, open 10am to 5pm. Langdon Nature Discovery Park, Lower Dunton Road, Basildon, SS16 6EJ.
At Hilldrop: Free parking next to the garden.
Please note: Everyone needs to choose walks within their capabilities. The walk leaders are experienced but must take peopleβs word that they will be ok undertaking the walk they have chosen to join.
Due care has been exercised in organising the walks, however Kinetika, the funders and associated partners of the project cannot accept liability for loss, accident or injury caused to any person following the routes, especially unsupervised. Participants under the age of 16 are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult.
What to take
Please ensure that you are properly equipped for all walks. The weather can be unpredictable so bring waterproof clothing and/or sun hats and sun cream β itβs best to be prepared for all weather.
Walking boots/shoes are recommended, but if you donβt have these please wear suitable and comfortable footwear β best to leave open-toe sandals or high heels at home. Make sure you bring snacks and a packed lunch with you, if necessary, and plenty to drink.
Toilet facilities can be accessed at the start or at the end of the walk.
At T100, we are committed to reducing our carbon footprint at every level, and request that people attending our events and walks bring their own reusable water bottle and take any rubbish they bring home with them.

We will be taking photographs and video of this event to promote and celebrate our regular walks. If you do not give consent to be photographed or filmed, thatβs absolutely fine. Please let a member of the T100 team know on the day.
