Gary's Forest Monk approach draws on ancient movement, meditation, and nature-based practices for modern stress and disconnection. A unique blend of ancient Eastern wisdom and modern movement science, fusing Shaolin training, Tai Chi, dynamic flexibility, meditation, and nature-based mindfulness to help you reclaim your health, focus, and inner peace. The short taster class will be suitable for beginners, no experince nessary, feel free to ask any questions on the day if its your first time. From smooth to punk, no genre is out of bounds, only restiction is your imagination.About our art actvity:Join artist and illustrator Maxine Newell to explore what makes Basildon so special through an Abstract Post Card Arts Event for Families, and celebrate what makes a place we call home so special! This is a chance to get creative, explore abstract art through a simple painting technique, no experience necessary. We will share ideas and discover the many reasons we’re proud to call Basildon home. Our abstract postcards created will form a mini exhibition using the trees around us as our gallery. From our communities and green spaces to our creativity, diversity and local culture, there’s something for everyone to celebrate.Get creativeno experience necessaryFamily-friendly painting activityCelebrate our communityShare what makes Basildon special----LOCATION AND ACCESSIBILITY NOTE:We will be meeting in a new location to previous picnics for the August edition. We will set ourselves up near the dark green shipping container to the south of the big lake (scroll down for map). The reason for this is to aid setting up of equipement, and to be closer to the woodland walk area. For those arriving from the town center your journey will be shorter. For those parking at the sporting village, your walk will be roughly 450m longer. Acess to the picnic location is via mostly even made paths, and the picnic will take place on a grassy area. We are exploring options for WC arrangments as we appreciate the park is underserved in terms of facilities. There wil be shaded areas but please bring sun protection and drinks.Due to extream weather events we have seen this summer, we will be reviewing weather temperature conditions, should a heatwave occur that would bring risk to the community a new date may be resceduled.
