Langdon Wild Evening Out

Walk to the woods with our Wilder Learning team and take part in some hands-on bug hunting, before we enjoy a tasty treat by the fire (weather dependent). Then learn how to use bat detectors on a walk to the lake and discover the wildlife that comes out once the sun has gone down!

🎫 Who requires a ticket?

All adults and children aged 5 and over will require a ticket to attend.

📍Where do we meet? 

Meet in the Community Garden, which is just opposite to the car park entrance.

🔥What should we bring? Is food provided?  (For sites with a campfire)

 Snack and a drink if you wish. No nuts, please. Weather permitting, we will have a fire, and you are welcome to bring something to toast. Things we like to toast: toasted tea cakes, brioche, slices of malt loaf, crumpet (some people cut these into triangles), fruit, cooked cocktail sausages, waffles, garlic bread, and small cheese sandwiches. Anything you can warm/toast on a stick, really! We provide toasting forks.

🥾What should we wear? 

Most of our events are fully outdoors, and you need to come dressed for the weather.  We recommend layers (top and bottom), which can get mucky.  Wellies (with thick socks) and waterproofs are a good shout if you have them. 

🌍Where are you based? 

We are located just off the A127 near Basildon.

🚗Is there parking? 

Yes. We have a large free car park.

🚇Can we get to you on public transport? 

Yes.  We are just under 2 miles walk from Laindon Station and under 1 mile walk from the nearest bus stop.

🚻Are there toilets? 

Yes. Our Langdon Nature Discovery Centre has toilets, shop and café serving hot and cold drinks, snacks, ice cream and light lunches.

🐕‍🦺Can we bring a dog? 

Assistance dogs are welcome at our events.
