# Event Details

- **Event Name**: It's Nice Up North
- **Event Start and End Date**: Thu, 12 Nov, 2026 at 07:30 pm (+00:00)
- **Event Description**: RBM presents.. A special, 20th-anniversary screening tour of Graham Fellows’ much loved comedy documentary It’s Nice Up North, presented also as a tribute to the late Martin Parr, the celebrated photographer who shot the movie, and whose distinctive eye is central to the movie’s charm and enduring appeal.

The film follows Fellows’ alter ego – the legendary comic character John Shuttleworth – on a gently absurd journey through the Shetland Islands to test the theory that the further north you go, the nicer people become.

Graham Fellows will be in attendance for a post-screening Q&A, play hitherto unseen footage, and to discuss his on and off-screen relationship with Martin Parr and how the photographer chose to adapt his legendary techniques to a film camera and crew on a remote Scottish island.

An hilarious and affectionate portrait of place and character – Anthony Baxter, director of You’ve Been Trumped and Flint

Eccentric, beautifully inconsequential.. Metro

A bit of a shambles, frankly, and utterly inspired – Marc Lee, Daily Telegraph

Length: 2 hours including interval. Film SUITABLE FOR ALL
