World Day of the Poor was established by Pope Francis and is celebrated annually on the Sunday before the Feast of Christ the King (this year on November 15th). To ready our hearts for this observance, let us reflect on the first Apostolic Exhortation of Pope Leo XIV entitled, Delexi te, “I Have Loved You” which was signed on the Feast of Saint Francis in 2025. In it, Pope Leo encourages us to appreciate the close connection between Christ’s love and his summons to care for the poor. There is no cost to attend this reflection and discussion session; however, it is a ticketed event. Registration opens on October 13th. Complimentary refreshments will be served.
