When Mildred and Ethel go off on a trip to Paris, leaving their husbands Humphrey and George at home, the “mice will play”.
Egged on by the philandering Humphrey Pomfrey, George agrees to invite two charming young ladies over. You know already what happens, don't you? The wives come home prematurely, and hilarity ensues as the complications pile up.
History
When the Cat's Away premiered at the Pier Theatre, Bournemouth, in June 1977.
The production featured Yootha Joyce, Brian Murphy,
Dilys Laye, Reginald Marsh, Sue Bond and
Roseanne Wickes.
