Barry Christmas Switch On will return to King Square on Saturday 22nd November 2025. The event will take place 10am until 7pm, brought to you by Barry Town Council.
The Christmas event will feature a stage with live music from 12pm, Santa’s Grotto, fun fair rides, street entertainment and a festive market. The light switch on itself will take place at 6:15pm.
Barry Town Council funds the Christmas lights on Park Crescent, High Street, and Holton Road each year. In addition, this year Barry Town Council will also be lighting up the Town Hall and providing the Christmas tree on King Square.
This event is a great example of how many organisations coming together as one, to bring festive cheer to the town of Barry. Barry Town Council are pleased to work alongside Bro Radio, Barry Round Table, Mack Events, James Danter & Sons, Vale of Glamorgan Council and Events Onstage.

“I am delighted that Barry Town Council is able to keep the community spirit alive by continuing to fund the Christmas light switch on, Christmas lighting across the town as well as the Christmas tree on King Square, and the Town Hall lights.
“Christmas can sometimes be a difficult time of year for people, and the Barry Christmas event celebrates coming together with friends and family, and being there for each other.
“I look forward to joining the people of Barry for the annual Christmas light switch on, and would like to wish everybody a very joyous festive season.”
