This exhibition marks a new collaboration with Hammond, following her 2017 Signal commission In Defence of Industry, which won the Lumen Award in 2018.Hammond’s return to Barrow-in-Furness, the heart of the UK’s submarine production, with a new multimedia installation that explores the mind of an autonomous submarine is both timely and provocative, interrogating the intersections of technology, autonomy and power.Felicity Hammond (Birmingham UK, 1988) works with installation, building fictional worlds and exploring the real-world impact and presence of digital systems and technologies.
