- **Event Description**: The first official gathering of the Barre Players took place on New Year’s Eve in 1921.  Earlier that summer, that group performed A Midsummer Night’s Dream on the Barre Common.  In 2026, we will be celebrating 105 years since that first show and the first group who called themselves the Barre Players.  

To kick off that celebration and learn a little more about Shakespeare’s famous comedy, join us for a reading of the script.  If you are interested in participating on or off the stage, this is a great way to learn the story and hear some more about our spring production. You are welcome to read a part (any part) or just come and listen.   And hopefully laugh.  Laugh a lot.
This is an informal event open to all ages and anyone who wants to join.

In keeping with our play reading tradition, there will be snacks.  You can bring something to share (any holiday treats you wish to use up).
