Be Part of our Centennial Celebration!
In August 1921, a group of actors led by George Vivian, called themselves the Barre Players. They put on a production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, featuring actors from town as well as New York City. In June 2026, we will perform this play again, celebrating a century of theater in Barre.

Lord, what fools these mortals be! On the eve of Theseus and Hippolyta’s wedding, four young lovers run off into the forest where another group of Athenians are rehearsing a play. They walk into a magical realm where Titania, the Queen of the Fairies and her king, Oberon argue over the fate of a changeling child. With some mischief, love potions, and a donkey tale the lovers get mismatched and one of the actors wows the fairy queen.
