They put on a production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, featuring actors from town as well as New York City. In June 2026, we will perform this play again, celebrating a century of theater in Barre.

Lord, what fools these mortals be! On the eve of Theseus and Hippolyta’s wedding, four young lovers run off into the forest where another group of Athenians are rehearsing a play. They walk into a magical realm where Titania, the Queen of the Fairies and her king, Oberon argue over the fate of a changeling child. With some mischief, love potions, and a donkey tale the lovers get mismatched and one of the actors wows the fairy queen.

At the Barre Players Theater, 64 Common Street, Barre, MA.

Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors (65+) and children 12 and under.

Tickets may be purchased online at barreplayers.ludus.com or at the door.

Please note there is a processing fee for all credit card purchases that increases the price. There is no added fees for any cash purchase and all proceeds go directly to support Barre Players theater.
