- **Event Description**: Food insecurity is a significant concern as the holiday season approaches. Benefits that aid many have been cut combined with existing factors like high inflation and food prices, makes food insecurity a major problem even for those in our area. During the holiday season the need for food intensifies for low-income families, senior citizens, and those affected by homelessness. Our Community Friendsgiving Feast that was scheduled for November 20, 2025 from 11am to 1pm at the Gail Reyes Senior Center has since been modifies to supplant the recent unfortunate circumstances. The event will now be held at the Barnwell Community Soup Kitchen. The date for the event is still November 20, 2025 with the times being 11am to 1 pm. A new flyer for this event is forthcoming. This event is now open to senior citizens, those who are experiencing difficult times, or those who do not have a place to call home, you are welcomed to attend. As always, any community member wishing to donate food for this event or help serve those in your community, feel free to contact me at 803-300-9992 or email ekirkland@barnwellcountysheriff.net. We are sorry for any inconvenience this might have caused but the need has changed so the event had to change to fulfill the need of our community. We thank you for your understanding in this matter and look forward to working with and seeing you at this event.
