A practical workshop exploring multiple ways that Photography techniques are used in the film industry.

Covering such topics as Behind the scenes, continuity and reference through to advanced photography in Visual effects and manipulating the photographs to create Digital matte paintings, the aim is to help develop and utilise skills for those who want to pursue a career in Film and TV.

In collaboration with the Ilfracombe photography Festival.

Thanks to Ilfracombe council and One Ilfracombe for the support.

John Sellings is North Devon (Ilfracombe) based filmmaker and Visual effects artist. He principally works as a Senior compositor on high end Film and TV projects. His credits include Mission impossible: The final Reckoning, The little mermaid, The Crown and Wheel of Time. He also worked on Hamnet as part of the BAFTA winning and Oscar nominated crew.

He has a strong passion for independent filmmaking working on puppet Horror Abruptio as well as Devon inspired Anime, Manga and comics with collaborators under the banner of Sweet Nightmares.

Working closely with his local and Devon wide arts community he is actively promoting filmmaking and creative skills and workshops as part of a UK wide endeavour to support people into creative based careers.
