Imbolc is the time of year when nature begins to make her way above the surface of the soil. The inertia of life speeds up a little with the lengthening days of sunlight; although the warmth might not be here quite yet. The sunlight is calling to the trees to begin their sap running, the early flowers to bloom & the birds to build their nests. The start of Spring!
Imbolc is also the celebration of the Goddess, Bride. Bride is a being who works with all of the elements & weaves them together well. Recognising each of the elements will give us the tools we need to see out the rest of the year, by choosing the ones we need to support us. It's a blessing to have the tools we need so early on.
Come celebrate the Spring & Bride with us!
What you will need:
-At least 12 stalks of corn. Please soak these overnight, doing the best to keep the heads dry.
-An arm's length of red ribbon
-If you wish, 4 small bells
-If you came to Yule, please bring the jar of soil with you that you had then & some seeds to plant.
-If you didn't come to Yule, please bring a jar of soil & some seeds to plant.
A dish to share made from ingredients for the time of year. Bride is the Goddess of cows, so dairy is popular at this time. Feel free to bring any kind of dairy, plant based or otherwise, as the plant based can symbolise cow dairy.
Cutlery, a goblet, plate/bowl, serving utensils for your dish
Teas will be available
Please park in our driveway, as the farmer of the village has asked that people not park on the verge. Thank you! ♥
