Art Talkin'

This series of open ended discussions will focus on how we approach art, construct meaning and evaluate our responses. We will reference art history and concepts drawn from philosophy and other disciplines in order to examine our relationship with art.

Each session will be guided by an opening proposition or art historical reference but participants will be encouraged to formulate their own ideas and contribute to the group.

Artist attendees will be encouraged to discuss their own work or that of others if they wish but no previous art theory experience is required, just an openness to ideas.

Image and meaning

Art and context

Authorship

Art and language

Memory and experience

Materiality and production

Form and expression

Participants will also be encouraged to suggest their own themes.

The sessions are open to artists and anybody with an interest in or curiosity about art.

£5 donation, can be pre-booked via Eventbrite or paid on the door.

By booking an event at Studio KIND., you agree to our cancellation policy, which states that no refunds will be issued for cancellations made less than two weeks before the event date. Refunds requested earlier will be processed minus Eventbrite booking fees.
