Steam Day

During the day you can see the Roberts Engine and the Smith and Eastwood engine running as they would have done when they powered cotton weaving sheds. The engine in our large engine hall is the one that powered over 1,200 looms on site, as well as all the ancillary equipment necessary in a mill.
You can still see the Lancashire boiler which powered the engine although this is no longer used to raise steam.
Come along and learn more about the mill, what it did and how we work to preserve it for future generations.
