If you haven’t experienced a workshop with Hans before, you'll be amazed by how much you can learn with him. Hans is a gentle and skilled teacher, who loves to share his passion and trademark deep insight into some fantastic Malian repertoire. Actual testimonials below!
Here’s what we’re offering:
• Friday evening session and two full days with Hans and Co.
• Dormitory accommodation in a modern centre with great facilities.
• Fully catered: all meals and snacks (vegetarian, with a vegan option), tea, coffee, etc. will be provided, from Friday dinner through to Sunday lunch.
• Djembe, dundun and songs for all levels from Improver to Pro, working in a mix of small and whole-group classes.
• Accompanying notation booklet and video demo so you can keep practising afterwards.
Above all, you’ll get a deep insight into some fantastic Malian repertoire from a teacher who has spent 25 years studying the rich culture of West African djembe music. Hans also is very experienced in understanding what students find challenging… he really knows his stuff and how to communicate it!
