Scratch Attack! Kids Coding Club
Wednesdays 4.30pm - 5.30pm 23rd, 30th, 6th, 13th
Ages 7 to 11
As part of our month of code - D-Lab will be running a four week coding club from the end of January to the February half-term.
This is a chance for your little ones to learn the fundamentals of programming through fun and creative exercises.
Over the four sessions we’ll go from the basics of variables and conditional statements all the way through to functions and classes while building games and apps in Scratch. All the workshops are fun and creative, aiming to turn students passion for gaming and apps into an ambition to make them.
These classes are for any student aged 7 to 11 and include components to challenge a wide range of abilities. There are only eight places available to ensure each student gets the support they need.
These workshops are taught by D-Lab Program Director Ed Fish. Ed has over three years experience teaching creative coding to all ages and until recently ran local coding clubs as Rocket Coders. Prior to this, Ed was head of Technology and Development at an ed-tech start-up, working with primary schools to make their computer science courses more creative and engaging for students. He is currently associate lecturer at Surrey University in Creative Coding.
