The NHS in Wales: A Health Economist’s Perspective on the Next 70 Years


Organised in partnership with Bangor University.

Professor Rhiannon Tudor Edwards FLSW has been a researcher and lecturer at Bangor University for 20 years, and is currently Professor in Health Economics. She has published collaboratively over 100 peer-reviewed articles, reports and book chapters in the field, and was an examiner for the UK Faculty of Public Health for three years. Professor Edwards has also served on a Medical Research Council steering group on the economic returns of biomedical research, and on the Wales Office for Research and Development in Health and Social Care Grants Committee. She is passionate about enabling young people living with disabilities to participate fully in the worlds of work, sport and social activity.

 Professor Edwards is a distinguished Fellow of the Learned Society of Wales.

Mae’r Athro Rhiannon Tudor Edwards FLSW wedi bod yn ymchwilydd ac yn ddarlithydd ym Mhrifysgol Bangor ers 20 mlynedd, ac ar hyn o bryd yn Athro mewn Economeg Iechyd. Mae wedi cyd-gyhoeddi dros 100 o erthyglau, adroddiadau a phenodau llyfr a adolygwyd gan gymheiriaid yn y maes, a bu’n arholwr i Gyfadran Iechyd Cyhoeddus y DU am dair blynedd. Mae’r Athro Edwards hefyd wedi gwasanaethu ar grŵp llywio’r Cyngor Ymchwil Meddygol ar enillion economaidd ymchwil biofeddygol, ac ar Bwyllgor Grantiau Ymchwil a Datblygu mewn Iechyd a Gofal Cymdeithasol Swyddfa Cymru. Mae’n daer dros alluogi pobl ifanc sy’n byw gydag anableddau i gyfranogi’n llawn ym myd gwaith, chwaraeon a gweithgaredd cymdeithasol.
