Climb 1 for Type 1 - Snowdon

Join JDRF Wales as we take on Snowdon/Yr Wyddfa on June 22nd 2019, the highest mountain in Wales, and in Britain south of the Scottish Highlands.

On the same day, JDRF Scotland will be taking a team up Ben Nevis and JDRF North will be taking a team up Scafell - so on the same day we will be completing the National 3 Peaks! Why not take on all three challenges over three years collecting the full set of medals?

This family-friendly challenge will follow the Llanberis Path on a 11-12 mile walk to the summit. One of the most popular routes up Snowdon, the Llanberis path heads up the northern side of this iconic mountain, often alongside the famous railway that also leads to the summit.

Starting in the town of Llanberis, on the banks of Llyn Padarn, the trail is mostly at an easy gradient, allowing you to take your time and enjoy views of the surrounding hills as you make your way up. Towards the summit, you can look back over the North Wales coastline and the Isle of Anglesey, and perhaps enjoy a summit cup of tea if the cafe is open!

The path is well-made and maintained, so is ideal for a first-ascent. The walk will be lead by experienced, full-qualified mountain leaders and will also include a picnic lunch.

The entry fee includes:
