Three gems from the 20th Century musical history of BangorTV composer, academic and jazz pianist Jochen Eisentraut will be presenting a fascinating snapshot of three interesting Bangor musical moments of the 20th Century, interspersed with live music from his trio. The first of these concerns the period during World War II, when parts of the BBC’s operations were evacuated to Bangor to keep them safe from air raids. For several years, hundreds of professional musicians came to Bangor to play in live radio programmes. These were often performed in Penrhyn Hall, the venue of this lecture concert. The evening also celebrates two musicians who spent formative years in Bangor before making their mark in quite different spheres of music. Bill Fay was a spiritual and romantic hippie who had a brief career before becoming a cult figure who was rediscovered later in life. Howard Riley, by contrast, was an experimental jazz musician who went on to study and perform widely in the US and around the UK, and taught at Goldsmiths, University of London for many years. Both died earlier this year as octogenarians. The Jochen Eisentraut Trio perform original compositions, some jazz tunes, and songs in various languages. The music includes a range of influences such as reggae and Scandi jazz, and is predominantly relaxed and atmospheric.Licenced Bar on Premise https://cdn-az.allevents.in/events2/banners/aff379d0-b173-11f0-953b-d9b8ba36be7e-rimg-w1048-h740-dce8e2c9-gmir.jpg - **Event URL**: https://allevents.in/bangor/bangor-1500-triawd-jochen-eistentraut-trio-fyw-o-neuadd-y-penrhyn-hall/100001838479956039 - **Event Categories**: music, entertainment, live-music, concerts, reggae - **Interested Audience**: - total_interested_count: 0 ## Ticket Details - **Ticket Price Range**: min: 10, max: 10, currency: GBP ## Event venue details - **city**: Bangor - **state**: WA - **country**: United Kingdom - **location**: Penrhyn Hall - **lat**: 53.2271935 - **long**: -4.1273285 - **full address**: Penrhyn Hall, Ffordd Gwynedd, Bangor, United Kingdom ## Event gallery - **Alt text**: BANGOR 1500: TRIAWD JOCHEN EISTENTRAUT TRIO : FYW O NEUADD Y PENRHYN HALL - **Image URL**: https://cdn-az.allevents.in/events7/banners/7714c747efa6c89a38e5938f1cf897f2778cc9fc41cce4cebd5f3d1d9615ecd6-rimg-w1200-h1698-dceaecee-gmir.jpg?v=1761377152 ## FAQs - **Q**: When and where is BANGOR 1500: TRIAWD JOCHEN EISTENTRAUT TRIO : FYW O NEUADD Y PENRHYN HALL being held? - **A:** BANGOR 1500: TRIAWD JOCHEN EISTENTRAUT TRIO : FYW O NEUADD Y PENRHYN HALL takes place on Fri, 28 Nov, 2025 at 07:00 pm to Fri, 28 Nov, 2025 at 09:30 pm at Penrhyn Hall, Ffordd Gwynedd, Bangor, United Kingdom. - **Q**: Who is organizing BANGOR 1500: TRIAWD JOCHEN EISTENTRAUT TRIO : FYW O NEUADD Y PENRHYN HALL? - **A:** BANGOR 1500: TRIAWD JOCHEN EISTENTRAUT TRIO : FYW O NEUADD Y PENRHYN HALL is organized by Megan. - **Q**: Who is this event for?
