Comedy Clubs In Bangkok

Bangkok has expanded into four different weekly comedy clubs. There are 3 weekly standup nights to visit here. Stagetime Comedy Club in Bangkok has an electric atmosphere and is mostly sold out through the year, which shows how the comedy scene in Bangkok is exploding. Comedy Club Bangkok, the longest standing comedy club has standup comedy every 2nd and 4th Friday and dedicates the 1st and 3rd week for Improv night. Every Wednesday there is an open mic night at RAW Comedy Club that used to be called, ‘Bangkok Hilarious’. These clubs have a mix between open mic acts and professionals - sometimes they get incredible comedians passing through such as Gina Yashere, Tom Rhodesor, and Aidan Killian. Last but not least there is the weekly, Khaosan Comedy Club where most acts are performed in Thai.

Stand Up Comedy In Bangkok

The Comedy Club Bangkok was the first dedicated English language comedy venue in the city, for fans and performers of standup, ‘improv’ and other forms of live comedy. Currently, performances are scheduled for Friday nights only, but the intention is to grow naturally while fostering a community of standup comedy fans as well as nurturing would-be performers. Chris Wegoda and Drew McCreadie, the two guys behind The Comedy Club Bangkok, are both experienced performers themselves, honing their skills over many years of performances in several countries, cracking jokes with some household names such as Ryan Stiles of Who’s Line Is It Anyway fame. Along with traditional bills of stand up comedians, there is an improvised comedy, game shows, and an international act taking to the stage roughly once a month.

Improv Comedy In Bangkok

A collection of open mic nights, touring shows and loosely formed comedy collectives have allowed Bangkokians a steady diet of live laughs. And to further allow them to indulge in their slapstick humor, various comedy clubs in Bangkok host open mic nights. The Londoner open mic has served for the past few years as the center of Bangkok’s comedy universe. While on-stage real estate was cheap initially, it has since gained popularity, so much so that, it is advised that one sign up for open mic slots beforehand. Alternatively, ZMACK IMPROV COMEDY hosts international theater workshops with a bilingual show. Improv theater is spontaneously created before your eyes from suggestions from the audience. With no scripts, no preparation, no props, and no time to think, the Zmackers will create hilarious scenes with several games in Thai and English simultaneously. And thanks to Zmack’s unique style, anyone can enjoy regardless of language ability. While Bangkok is famed for its nightlife and after dark pursuits, standup comedy has found a footing here with comedy nights dotted in odd spots around the city.
