Benson Town, Cox Town, Fraser Town – Bengaluru’s ‘Bangalore’ has been home to many English settlements that revolved around the Bangalore Cantonment. The nucleus of these towns have been the many Cathedrals, churches known for their varied architectural styles. Set around them were bungalows hidden among neatly laid treed avenue. Life revolved around military and social gatherings, going to the ‘city’ for balls or later, the movies, having a barbeque in the yard of the bungalow with its ornate roofs and monkey topped windows.
Join us on this unique walk that takes one through such English towns. Admire the architecture, appreciate the Anglican era and understand the present modern ‘towns’ of the city.
