SAKHI Festival 2025- Day 1

The Sakhi Festival, conceptualised by Smt. Sisira Das is a unique celebration of India’s classical dance and music, envisioned as a space where tradition meets innovation. Rooted in the meaning of its name — Sakhi, meaning “friend” — the festival emphasises companionship, collaboration, and community. It is dedicated to nurturing India’s artistic legacy by providing a dignified platform for emerging talent while honouring master artists. Through performances, lecture-demonstrations, and artistic exchanges, Sakhi fosters inclusivity, mentorship, and continuity in the classical arts.

Highlights of the day:

• A Kuchipudi theatre production by renowned dancer and actress Rachana Narayanankutty
• SAKHI Dance & Music Awards Ceremony, honouring excellence in classical arts
• A special appearance by the one and only Hareesh Sivaramakrishnan, who will receive the SAKHI Music Award and sing a few select pieces.
