Learn to make Cubist Art
Walk into the Urban Ladder store on the 16th of June for a workshop on Cubism. Probably the most influential art movement of the 20th century, Cubism has shaped art as we know it. What is it, though? Stated simply, Cubism is another way of seeing and depicting the world, one that isn’t particularly life-like. Instead, the Cubist artist looks at an object from various angles, fractures it into geometric forms, and pieces the fragments together.
At this workshop, you will exercise your creativity just as famous Cubists did. You will learn to make your very own Cubist work, guided by facilitators from Bloom&Grow. You will learn to work with balance, light, and shade. This workshop also includes a brief session on art appreciation, so you can read art like you read a book. You will also go on a fascinating trip down art history, and understand the elements and methods used in creative processes.
Sheets and supplies will be provided at the session, however, you’re free to bring your sketchbook if you prefer it. As with all our workshops, no previous experience with art is necessary. Amateur, dabbler, or professional, there’s a place for you at our workshop. So come over and try your hand at something new, that is also something historic!
