Bhoomi Habba 2019
Visthar invites you to the 13th edition of Bhoomi Habba – The Earth Festival on 8th June 2019. Held at the green Eco Sanctuary, the objective of the Habba is to increase public awareness of the environmental crises faced by our city and showcase inclusive and sustainable alternatives.
The thematic focus of Bhoomi Habba 2019 is on water with the slogan ‘Save Water, Save Life!’. According to Vandana Shiva, 'The water wars of the twenty-first century may match or even surpass the oil wars of the twentieth.’ There is an urgent need to focus on the water crisis we are faced with. We invite you to participate in conversations and campaigns on water.
Bhoomi Habba is a day-long celebration filled with environment campaigns and workshops, exhibitions and shows, art workshops, theatre presentations, film festival, folk music and much more. We will also promote exhibition and sale of eco-friendly crafts, organic farm produce and traditional and millet foods from all over the country.
The Habba will also feature extensive workshops on recycling, upcycling, arts and crafts (such as cartooning, warli, pottery, dream catcher making), theatre and storytelling for children. Schools and parents are urged to bring children to enable them to discover the beauty of nature within the nurturing space of the Visthar Eco Sanctuary.
We offer space for exhibition of books, posters and campaign materials on principles and practices of sustainable water management. Eco friendly and organic crafts and food products could also be exhibited and sold. The stall charge is Rs.2950/-(Inclusive of 18% GST).
