Pratt is excited to work in partnership with several community organizations to bring in a variety of dynamic presenters and performers, with rich academic and artistic backgrounds to lead these programs.What’s on the menu:In April, Pratt is excited to welcome Danielle Smith, Reference Archivist, , for an engaging presentation designed to help participants begin researching their family's Maryland history. This session introduces the basic tools, methods, and resources used by genealogists to trace ancestors and build out their family tree. Participants will learn about the Archive's genealogy-related holdings and how to access them, as well as learning about other helpful resources and projects (such as Legacy of Slavery in Maryland, Mayis: Indigenous Records, Maryland Land Records, etc.) This real-time exploration walks attendees through the basics of genealogy research, while providing them with tips and tricks for their own personal genealogy journey.After the presentation, participants will be invited to participate in other facilitated activities or our regular book discussion group led by Pratt Librarians from the Fiction Dept.Lunch will be provided.Please contact the Programs department at pao@prattlibrary.org or 410-396-5494, if you have questions about registration or to request accommodations.
