MD SPCA Volunteer Orientation 5/24/19
The first step to getting started as a volunteer at the Maryland SPCA is to attend a Volunteer Orientation. Orientations are held twice a month at the MD SPCA. At orientation, prospective volunteers are invited to learn more about the MD SPCA, volunteer policies, and how you can get involved.
Space is limited in each session and new sessions are added every month. If all sessions are full, please check back next month for more opportunities!
All Maryland SPCA volunteers must:
Be at least 17 years of age.
Commit to volunteering at least twice a month for the next six months.
Be capable of safely handling animals with minimal staff supervision.
Have their own health insurance.
Cat Cuddlers must be able to lift cats and kittens.
Dog Deputies must be able to restrain strong, large dogs, including being able to lift at least 50lbs.
