Throughout, she demonstrates that distrust of the media and violence against the press in the United States are hardly new developments, and she introduces a framework to offer possible solutions.This event will feature a conversation with the author at Bird in Hand Coffee & Books. It is a part of the Fall of Freedom, a nationwide wave of cultural events in defiance of authoritarian forces sweeping the nation.ahead of time!Elizabeth Atwood spent nearly thirty years as a newspaper reporter and editor, including twenty-two years at the Baltimore Sun. Currently, Atwood is Associate Professor of journalism at Hood College in Frederick, Maryland, where her research focuses on the relationship between the news media and political and social revolutions.
