Excel is the world’s premier spreadsheet software. You can use Excel 2010 to analyze numbers, keep track of data, and graphically represent your information. In the first of three Excel 2010 courses, attendees will learn how to use the basic features of Excel 2010, utilizing a hands-on approach to learning.
Learning Objectives: Upon completion of this course, participants will:
Open and close Excel
Differentiate between worksheets, workbooks, rows, columns, and cells
Enter labels and values
Set up your page
Use absolute referencing appropriately
Use basic Excel functions, including SUM, AVERAGE, MAX, and MIN
Use selection statistics
Format text and numbers
Change the workbook theme
Target Audience: Any City Employee
Prerequisite: Basic fluency with Microsoft Office or Introduction to Personal Computers
Time: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Upon confirmation of enrollment, employees should note the date(s), time(s) and location of the training class(es) on their personal calendars and make every effort to attend as scheduled. Employees should be considerate and understand that by failing to attend a class as scheduled, they limit another employee who may have been able to attend. Any request to cancel a registration needs to be received at least three working days prior to the scheduled class date. If notification is not received at least three working days prior to the class start date, or the applicant does not show up for class, the applicant will be considered a "no-show". The agency will be charged for the full amount and no credit or refund will be issued. DHR Learning & Development Division reserves the right to cancel a class if the number of registrations received is such that it would make it cost prohibitive to conduct the class.
