Through programs that teach writing skills through social justice, the organization has transformed more than 65,000 students into writers with voice, knowledge, and purpose. Inspired by two decades of listening to students tell their stories, Eric's debut novel, TAUGHT, was released in January 2026. Dr. Clare Berke teaches English and Journalism in the Washington, D.C., Public Schools, and is an adjunct faculty member in American University’s School of Education. She lives with her three children in Upper Fells Point and visits her family in rural Nebraska every summer.
