Join Highwire Improv for a Winter Workshop Series - 6 teachers, 6 topics, plenty of opportunities to tune-up, try new things, and meet fellow improvisers!
Each workshops is a standalone 2-hour event; $25 each!
Embodied Comedy is an experiential workshop that blends nervous system theory, embodiment practices, and improvisational theater to support personal transformation through play and enactment.
This workshop is designed for participants who have completed Level Two and are ready to get out of their heads, deepen their embodied awareness, expand their emotional range, and explore how comedy and theater can become tools for regulation, insight, and change.
Through guided somatic practices, structured improv games, and both solo and partnered work, participants will:
This workshop is not strictly focused on fine-tuning onstage performance; it also emphasizes offstage felt experience, experimentation, and integration using comedy as a pathway to deeper self-awareness and embodied choice.
Participants can expect a fun, supportive environment that encourages curiosity, consent, and authenticity, with space for both laughter and meaningful reflection.
About your instructor:
Emily Iannuzzelli (she/her) is an improviser, nervous system coach and collage artist who blends embodied play, creative expression, and nervous system awareness to help people reconnect with joy and imagination. With a background in improv comedy, somatic practices, and coaching, she creates spaces where growth feels like play.
About the Venue:
The Highwire Center is Highwire Improv's home base in the Highlandtown neighborhood of Baltimore! Part of Highlandtown Main Street and the Highlandtown Arts District, The Highwire Center is home to classes, free workshops, shows, community events, corporate training, and more! The Highwire Center is accessible, with ramp access available, an ADA restroom, and flat transit throughout the space.
