Follette’s distinctive baritone voice and global appeal position him as a rising star in the world of music and a sought-after performer.UNITE Mount Vernon is proud to launch with a free Holiday Concert — donations gratefully accepted! – especially because music was a key to the building of the Mount Vernon Place Church. Its Methodist founders had broken away from an earlier group partly over a musical controversy. Any music other than hymn singing was considered sinfully distracting by some, but not at the Mount Vernon Place Church. A magnificent organ was immediately installed after the Church opened its doors in 1872. It was the fourth-largest in the nation and full of innovations. Some of the pipes were powered by water. And sparks generated by the organ itself were used to light the gas lamps in the sanctuary.
