Flowers symbolised beauty, paradise, and divine perfection. They were considered a connection between the earthly and spiritual world. The flowers featured include lilies, narcissus, irises, tulips, carnations, poppies, anemones, and campions, among other flowers. While the flowers were painted to look realistic, they were drawn in a unique style with a distinct colour palette and became known as Mughal Flowers.In this workshop, you will study Mughal flowers and create your own flower painting on canvas in the style of 17th-century albums from Mughal India. You will learn painting techniques used to paint these flowers, such as flooding and layering, dry-brush painting to add details and fine outlines.
