Mick Dog's Resonator Special

The resonator guitar was hailed as the marvel of its age, invented in the late 1920s by John Dopyera to make guitars louder before electric amplification. With its shining metal cones, it quickly became the voice of blues, bluegrass, and early jazz, strummed and slid by legends like Son House, Josh White, and the young Django Reinhardt—bringing a joyful, ringing sound that could cut through any crowd and lift every spirit.
As part of the 2026 Begonia Festival renowned finger picking guitarist Mick Trembath brings a carefully selected set of known, lesser known and original tunes to show off the unique voice of these marvellous guitars
