Lino Cut Printing for Beginners
Presented by local Visual Artist, Jessica Schroeter, this workshop is a fun basic introduction into linocut printmaking, by the end of the workshop you will have learnt to make a linocut stamp and linocut block print and have a finished print to take home.
Lino cut printmaking for beginners – A fun introduction to lino cut printmaking running over two evenings you’ll learn to plan and carve a lino cut block and print a series of prints from the block, without the use of a
printing press! An ideal art form that you can continue on at home and or enroll later for an intermediate printing workshop and take your printing skills to the next level.
Term 1 printmaking will focus on nature and plants to create a simple but effective silhouette print of a plant or leaf. Either as a medium sized block or smaller stamp style blocks (as pictured) which you can take home at the end of the workshop as well as a series of prints which look great framed for yourself and or as a homemade gift.
There will be lots of options for both the beginner and or those with an art background who want to try some printmaking, it’s a great way to extend your art practice with a new medium.
We will only be using non-toxic water based block inks.
