Please join us for an excluding documentary screening and Q&A of "Taking Venice"

Set during the height of the Cold War, internationally acclaimed documentary Taking Venice explores the intersection of art, politics and cultural diplomacy, uncovering rumours that the U.S. government and influential insiders manoeuvred behind the scenes to secure American artist Robert Rauschenberg’s win of the Grand Prize at the Venice Biennale in 1964.

Through daring strategies that could rival a political thriller, the story reveals how this moment helped shift the centre of the contemporary art world from Europe to the United States.

Gallery Association Members are invited to enjoy the film with an exclusive Q&A with the film’s composer, local artist Chee-Wei Tay, and to stay for refreshments and conversation with fellow members and the local creative community.
