Join us on Eureka Sunday to celebrate the Spirit of Eureka. This special community day marks the 171st Anniversary of the Eureka Stockade and has something for the whole family to enjoy.
Eureka Sunday includes a playgroup extravaganza with free face painting, craft activities, lawn games, interactive music with Coco Sounds, and a special Eureka-themed Storytime. This community celebration is presented in partnership with the Art Gallery of Ballarat and the Ballarat Aquatic and Leisure Centre.
Balance Play with Ballarat Aquatic and Lifestyle Centre (BALC)
10am-2pm
Roll, bounce and balance at this special pop-up session with the BALC gymnastics team. Suggested ages 1 to 5 years.
Play and Sing with Coco Sounds
10.30am and 12pm
Sing songs from around the world and explore rhythms using your body and various musical instruments. Suggested ages 1 to 7 years.
Storytime in the Park
11.15am and 12.45pm
Delight in stories of mischief and adventure on the Goldfields. Suggested ages 3 to 8 years.
Art Encounters with the Art Gallery of Ballarat
11am-1.30pm
Join the team from the Art Gallery of Ballarat and create your own artwork inspired by the Eureka Stockade. Suggested ages 6 to 12 years.
Throughout the day there will also be free face painting, lawn games and Eureka Flag talks on the hour. Food will be available for purchase or bring a picnic! The Eureka Aquatic Centre will also hold its annual Eureka Pool Party nearby, with free entry and activities from 8am-6pm.
There will be a complimentary shuttle bus running between Alfred Deakin Place (Ballarat City) and the Eureka Centre between 10am and 2.30pm.
